I pioneered the right to die with dignity in Peru. As a lawyer, I won the country's first two cases on end-of-life choices: Ana Estrada's, which led to the first euthanasia in Peru, and María Benito's, on the right to refuse life-sustaining treatment. Today I work to extend these rights across Latin America through Plataforma Dignidad, the network I co-founded.

Peru's first case of medical assistance in dying. I led it from the Ombudsperson's Office and then as Ana's attorney. The ruling recognised a new constitutional right, and in April 2024 Ana became the first person in Peru to access euthanasia.
